MeetFactory gallery

The MeetFactory Gallery aims to bring the most actual foreign and local art productions to the public; offering what is missing in Prague – a space for conceptually mature exhibits with high production requirements. Furthermore, exhibitions can provide local artists a way into an international context, and vice versa. The goal is to offer a place for the still insufficiently represented relations between:

- The artistic generations before and after the Velvet Revolution;
- The Eastern and Western European or global art scene;
- Upcoming and established groups of theorists and curators.

Due to its generous space, MeetFactory allows the artists to boldly form the space, and change the ground plan and its character, therefore making it a unique place among others. The gallery exhibition program stands on three basic pillars: presentation of foreign male and female artists, critical reflection of the Czech art scene, and support of the residential atelier program.

 

Kostka gallery

A characteristic part of the gallery is the Kostka, designed for the youngest artistic generation as an important platform to enter the Czech art scene. Annually, a third of the exhibition terms will be offered to the public in the form of an open call.

In the long term, the MeetFactory Gallery aims cooperate with active Czech and foreign curators. Annually there are at least two exhibitions made in cooperation with hosting art critiques.

The MeetFactory residential atelier program aspires to interconnect the activities of our guests with partnership institutions; galleries such as Světovar Plzeň, GASK Kutná Hora, Gallery TRANSIT in Prague, Gallery FUTURA in Prague, Gallery BKC in Brno, the Brno House of Arts and others.

MeetFactory Gallery dramaturgic guidelines are unique in that they allow the artists to extensively work with the space. There is production assistance for specific projects, including accommodation for artists and their assistants, and of course active PR support of their works.
