The collaborative installation of Kateřina Zochová and Tomáš Hrůza reproduces an imaginary expedition based on a dream about the crisis of values. Two close friends meet in the middle of the ocean to subsequently formulate their vision of new possible world order. The exhibition draws on the artists’ travels to Asia and South America. It is "narrated" as a novel or a short story, connecting free, intuitive associations with concrete questions addressing the tired spirit of our times.

Hence, what is the art of the doctor?

His knowledge of what is useful for unperceivable things, what is annoying for them 

what is pleasant and what unpleasant for human beings and animals 

what is favorable and what unfavorable for them 

what is healthy and what unhealthy. 

That is the art relating to natural things. 

What else? 

Healing wounds and its power, 

from where or from what it works and what is it, 

what is a Wailing wind, what is a Siren,

what about permutation, transplantation and transmutation and how can they be grasped by flawless reason;  

what is beyond nature, beyond art, beyond life 

what is visible and what invisible

what gives sweetness and what bitterness, what has a good taste 

what is death

what belongs to the kitchen, to the garden, what belongs to time 

what belongs to the wanderers, what to the settled 

what does war require, what makes piece

what is the cause of spiritual sciences, what of the secular ones 

what is poison and what is against it

what is in women, what is in men

and why all things have a color, once this one, another time a different one 

why something is short and something long 

why is there success, why a mistake

and how do these aspirations meet in all things.

Kateřina Zochová (* 1986) is currently finishing her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, in the studio of Vladimír Skrepl and Jiří Kovanda. her work focuses on audiovisual installations and performance. In the sound sphere she works especially with reproduced spoken word, but she also experiments on the edge of audio-environment and music. She is a part of the music projects Over Ocean and Audiofenky. Her long-term interest lies in the investigation of different forms of „narration“. She commonly uses the media of photograph and animation to create a „story“. She reaches it through film editing, composition links between the images and manipulation of the duration of individual frames in a diaprojection. The author has presented her work at numerous festivals and exhibitions especially in Prague, Brno and Bratislava. 

Tomáš Hrůza (* 1979) graduated from the Faculty of Art and Design, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University. He works especially in the medium of photography or video. The central topic of his work is the relation of human and nature. He is interested in linking the cultural and natural phenomena, while seeking landscape as a cultural sphere, defining the essence of a human being and his place in the world. Tomáš Hrůza participated in numerous solo and group shows both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Besides his artistic work he cooperates on the Prague Artmap and on publishing the magazine Fotograf.
