Radio Wave is celebrating its 12th birthday on Friday, January 12th, per tradition – with the Stimul Festival music fest at Prague’s MeetFactory venue.

Romare (UK) (Solo live)
London-based producer, Archie Fairhurst, signed by the cult label Ninja Tune, is not afraid to draw his inspiration from an area that's somewhat removed from the dance scene. He is, after all, a student of Afro-American visual culture, and borrows his pseudonym Romare from African-American painter and collagist, Romare Bearden. It was he who, in the second-half of the twentieth century, connected abstract art with the struggle for the civil rights of racial minorities. In addition to those common themes, Archie Fairhurst has copied from his artistic role-mode his composition method as well – his music reminds one of a collage full of samples of jazz, blues, or disc, but infused with current club trends. In his tracks, Romare combines different cultures, and mixes them to create global electronic sounds for 2018.

Bwana (CAN)
Canadian producer Nathan Mickay, performing under the name Bwana, has been on the scene since 2012. He moves in the waters of dance music, from post-dubstep, to progressive house, and extending onto ambient. He did a remix of Taylor Swift songs, and after moving to Berlin, he recorded an EP inspired by the club Berghain and steeped in techno style, but his true masterpiece lies further from European culture. The Japanese cyberpunk classic, Akira, is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for writers, filmmakers, and dance music alike. Bwana reconstructed, on his EP Capsule's Pride, the original Akira soundtrack from 1988, by composer Shōzhi Jamaširo. He will invite Radio Wave's birthday guests to take part as the darkness settles on neo-Tokyo, going on a nighttime motorbike ride with Akira, and a terrifying dance with Tetsu.
