Anna Ročňová: Tůně

Anna Ročňová conceives of her works as fragile parts of external, especially natural structures. Her objects subtly grow out of the surrounding environment and thus create in the gallery a certain transformation or subtle invasion of the natural environment into the exhibition space. Ročňová also applies this way of thinking in reverse, when she lets her objects operate in the open air, which becomes an open exhibition field. It is the emphasis on the natural process, through which the works gradually merge with the landscape and become part of the environment in which they have been exhibited/placed, that is an essential part of Ročňová's artistic expression - we could call it a slow ingrowth or overgrowth. Her exhibition at the Kostka Gallery will work with the same principles. By combining fragile natural materials with industrial elements, she will continue the original (industrial) purpose of the space in which Kostka Gallery is now located. The exhibition is intended as a thematic equivalent to the collective show Only Transitions and Translations, which will run concurrently in the main gallery.
