Anna Vaverková's diaristic indie-pop, which finds beauty in the day-to-day, is heading to MeetFactory
Born in Prague, Anna Vaverková is a musician, composer and producer based in Berlin, where she settled after her studies. In Berlin, she performed with The Flavians, with whom she opened for the legendary indie band Catfish and the Bottlemen, and also appeared at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK. During the pandemic, Anna turned to writing lyrics in Czech and released an EP under her own name, titled Roztomilá Holka, which earned her nominations for numerous music awards.
Vaverková's debut full-length Pozdravy z polepšovny, which won both an Anděl Award and an Apollo Award, Anna performed on stages across the Czech Republic and internationally, including at the SXSW festival in Austin, the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, as well as in London, Berlin, and Hanover. In June 2025, Anna and her band presented a series of concerts as part of the cultural program at the Czech National Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, followed by the release of her second studio album, Krása. After a short hiatus from performing in Prague, Anna will play at MeetFactory on Saturday, November 7.
Suppoting the show will be Elias O. Graversen who creates alternative pop tainted by the grit of Berlin nightlife. Elias broke through with his cover of Wuthering Heights, played on BBC Radio 1 and DR P6. “I was originally crafting an album in the vein of Caroline Polachek and Susanne Sundfør, but the single's momentum pushed me toward a sharper hyper-pop edge.” At MeetFactory, Anna's former college classmate will perform live with a drummer, and also support as the fourth member of her band, playing keyboards and guitar.
