Art ACADEMY with Darina Alster - Fashion design, handmade screenprinting

Want to create your own unique pieces for your wardrobe? The designer, sculptor, artist and yogini Jana Kochánková (http://kokoland.org) will show us how to do it. Together, we'll look into the creative cuisine of this unique artist. We'll learn the principles of screen printing as well as how it's created in fashion collections and how it is all connected with free art. We'll design our own prints, and then convert them to the fabric using manual screen printing. Bring along monochromatic clothing (preferably t-shirts) that you want to print on!

For the summer semester the Student Academy will dive into the adventures of artistic creation. Each month we will focus on a different artistic discipline. We'll be recognizing a wide range of directions in which contemporary art issues from fine artwork under the microscope through personal styling to large format murals in downtown Prague. Creativity has no limits. Art can be seen almost anywhere and everywhere, depending on each person's discretion and taste. Life is about creating. Art is life.

About Student Academy: Student Academy are leisure activities for high school students free of charge. Under the slogan "Do what you enjoy" from 2010, it offers students art workshops which are held in attractive locations, under the leadership of interesting personalities from the cultural scene. Since the autumn of 2012, the  Art & Design Academy workshops take place regularly 2 times a month in MeetFactory.
