Art ACADEMY with Darina Alster - Text Collages

Have you ever tried to imagine the taste, color, or feeling of a partiu word? Together we will compose words into graphic compositions and use complementary photographs and drawings. As material we use old newspapers and magazines. We'll cut up different texts and change their meaning, looking for random poetry. We'll work mainly with techniques of collage. This workshop is Inspired by the creations of the surrealists, especially the Czech magician collage artist Jiří Kolář.

For the summer semester the Student Academy will dive into the adventures of artistic creation. Each month we will focus on a different artistic discipline. We'll be recognizing a wide range of directions in which contemporary art issues from fine artwork under the microscope through personal styling to large format murals in downtown Prague. Creativity has no limits. Art can be seen almost anywhere and everywhere, depending on each person's discretion and taste. Life is about creating. Art is life.

About Student Academy: Student Academy are leisure activities for high school students free of charge. Under the slogan "Do what you enjoy" from 2010, it offers students art workshops which are held in attractive locations, under the leadership of interesting personalities from the cultural scene. Since the autumn of 2012, the  Art & Design Academy workshops take place regularly 2 times a month in MeetFactory.
