DIIV (US) + Ghost of You (CZ)

Rebirth takes place when everything falls apart. The American band DIIV craft the soundtrack to personal resurrection under the heavy weight of metallic catharsis upheld by robust guitars and vocal tension that almost snaps, but never quite… Their first ever Prague show was also the very last concert at MeetFactory preceding a long period of pandemic hibernation. Back in early 2020, DIIV presented their latest record Deceiver full of fuzzed-out shoegaze bliss and troubadour poetry, a record that indicated the band’s shift towards a rougher guitar-heavy sound. We can shorten the wait for their new album by listening to the new The DIIV podcast, in which the band members discuss their favorite music, its social context and new musical ideas, some of which may be heard as early as August 11, when they return to MeetFactory.
