Dorian Concept & Cid Rim + Tom Holič

Synth wizard Oliver Johnson aka Dorian Concept returns to Prague with a new album What We Do For Others, released in fall on Brainfeeder. The third record of the eclectic Austrian producer, who fuses experimental electronics, jazz, hip-hop and ambient, is a relaxed sonic tapestry based on delightfully loose arrangements and soothing astral soundscapes.

“I feel like for me as a musician – up until now I've always had this drive to do things 'properly' – to somehow strive for perfection. But this is an album about me letting go of that urge – about understanding that there's something magical that happens in these first takes we often call drafts... a spirit is captured. And once you try to re-record it, the essence of the idea gets lost. So in a way I wanted to see how little ‘control’ I could exert on the music whilst recording it... to almost let the music make itself.”

​Johnson, who has worked with Flying Lotus or The Cinematic Orchestra, has a debut on Ninja Tune and two records on Brainfeeder, returns to Prague for a show with the aclaimmed drummer Cid Rim on Sunday, February 10th.

Producing and performing improvised electronic music for over a decade, Tom is influenced by both mainstream and underground, originally a trumpet player with a passion to catch melodies as they fly by. Mostly using simple sequencers and cheap synths as a guarantee for adventure. Dreamy synths and trumpets, looped vocals and acid bases, varying in a wide scale of tempos.
