KineDok: Exit

The past of Norwegian documentary filmmaker Karen Winther is decorated with swastikas and the motif of the imperial eagle Hitler of the Third Reich. In her documentary, a former neo-Nazi seeks answers to the question of what forced her and other former violent extremists to leave these radical groups. Through interviews with ex-extremists from France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, she searches in her memories for a moment, a point at which they have decided to change their life. Many of them have to hide because of their history and guilt is still present. The reflection of the past and the break that occurred when extremist circles wanted to extricate themselves creates portraits of those who fear society.
