Art-rock trio Larsen, a key pillar of the Italian experimental scene, is heading to Prague with their twentieth album Decalcomania, produced by William Basinski

The enigmatic project Larsen — currently comprised of Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo, Marco "il Bue" Schiavo, and Paolo Dellapiana — broke through at the turn of the millennium with their album Rever, produced and released by Michael Gira of Swans. Over the years the band has collaborated with a wide range of figures from various corners of the global independent music scene, from Xiu Xiu to Nurse With Wound to Jóhann Jóhannsson. Larsen are genre-elusive — from the instrumental chamber rock that dominated their earliest recordings, the band has set out to explore new sonic grounds with each new album. On their twentieth, Decalcomania, they oscillate between groovy trip hop, dub pressure, avant-garde electro, and hazy lounge music. 

Larsen are setting out on a European tour in support of the new record, with a stop at MeetFactory on Friday, September 18. Opening the night will be the local trio Favorite Obsession, whose dream-pop and shoegaze from their debut album Bliss – which explores queer identity, fragile relationships, gender, and the search for tenderness in a world overwhelmed by information and hatred – was named by Český rozhlas as one of the strongest debuts of last year.
