Summer Cinema II| WINNER: AMERICAN BEAUTY

Fascination, sexual frustration, rose petals and a very ordinary American town – all this in a 21 years old debut of British filmmaker Sam Mendes which became an instant classic shortly after its release. 
Strong theme of sexual frustration repercussions is framed by a story of an ordinary guy (Kevin Spacey) who lives in a worn-out and long-gone marriage. His daily routine is suddenly disrupted by fascination with a charming classmate of his own daughter. However, Sam Mendes created a very consistent animation of a regular American town with all kinds of characters who intertwine in a mosaic which searches solace and splendour in tragedy and helps the viewer find the beauty of the present moment.
Screening starts at 21:30.
Entrance fee is 80 CZK, 50 % discount for Prague 5 inhabitants.
