Canadian singer-songwriter with Russian heritage Michelle Gurevich like to do things her way – after ten years in the film industry, she turned to songs and started releasing music under the nickname Chinawoman. Without a big label having her back, she released for long-playing records so far – the last being “New Decadence” under her own name late last year – and tours, alone and a lot. Her shows confirm what makes the records strong – sentimental melancholy with bold storytelling earned her comparison to Nico or Leonard Cohen. MeetFactory will see Michelle’s first Prague show on Thursday, November 23, 2017.
