Open Call: Artists in Need Residency

MeetFactory is opening a new call for applications for a residency program for Ukrainian artists living in Prague. This residency is open to artists who are looking for a new environment to work in and want to share their perspective and experience with the local and international artistic community.

The residency includes:

• studio at MeetFactory;

• monthly living allowance in the amount of CZK 17,000;

• production budget up to CZK 5000 for materials needed for the artistic work;

• international networking, curatorial and production support.

Residency duration and public events:

• February 1 - May 31, 2027

• March 3 and May 5 - Open studios

The residency must be completed in the specified period and it is not possible to interrupt it.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• prove a professional artistic practice of at least 2 years (including individual and group exhibitions and project proposals);

• be able to adjust their professional commitments in order to actively participate in the residency program at MeetFactory, including Open Studios, coffee hours and other regular meetings (participation is a necessary condition for receiving the monthly allowance);

• The open call is not age-restricted.

 The application must include:

• curriculum vitae;

• a portfolio of maximum 10 pages;

• a motivation letter of up to 3,600 characters, which will contain: 1. artist statement, 2. an explanation of how the applicant intends to use the residency as part of their artistic practice; 3. an explanation of the circumstances that led the applicant to move from their country or place of residence to the Czech Republic.

Application deadline:

• up to and including November 15, 2026. Applications after this date will not be accepted for the selection process.

Selection procedure:

• Applications will be reviewed by a selection comittee composed of members of the MeetFactory residency program team.

• The selection board reserves the right to reject any project without giving reasons for the decision. The decision is final, it is not possible to appeal against it.

•  Applicants will be informed about the results of the selection procedure by e-mail and we will also publish the results  by November 30, 2026 on the MeetFactory website.
