Like a small puff of smoke that gradually ignites into something much more exciting – that’s the rock band Dead Poet Society, who struck us like lightning at Rock for People 2025. Armed with their new single “Sinner Systems,” they will arrive at MeetFactory on February 21, 2027.

The band started out as an indie outfit, self-producing and recording their own tracks, including two acclaimed EPs. In a 2016 interview with Beyond The Stage magazine, frontman Jack Underkofler described the band's sound as “heavy indie rock,” built on the contrast of gritty, down-tuned guitar riffs with smooth, pop-tinted choruses and verses.

In 2016, their music was discovered by the influential Mexican YouTube channel Pepe Problemas. Their review caught the attention of fellow up-and-coming rockers Sputnik, who invited the band to open for them on their national tour across Mexico.

Their ultimate breakthrough in the US came in 2018 when Spotify's editorial team added the single “American Blood” to their playlists, following the band's strong organic growth on social media and streaming platforms. Josh Katz of the band Badflower was one of their earliest fans, especially of their song “CoDA.”

With two studio albums under their belt, they released the single “Sinner Systems” in May 2026, which they describe as a “cinematic journey.” “It's a dark, brooding song that blends heavy, detuned fretless grooves with addictive, hedonistic lyrics that hold a mirror up to modern excess,” the band adds.
