H-BLOCKX, the crossover pioneers, are back after fourteen years with their new album FILLIN_THE_BLANK, perfectly capturing the magic of their hugely successful ’90s era. They will celebrate their rebirth on March 6, 2027, at MeetFactory, packed with heavy riffs and majestic choruses.

The band came together in 1990 in Münster, Germany. Their debut album Time to Move (1994) earned them a Best Breakthrough Artist nomination at the 1995 MTV Europe Music Awards. Other records followed, as well as the soundtrack to the German movie Bang Boom Bang – Ein todsicheres Ding. 

“In 2024, we played an anniversary tour for our debut album. That’s when it became clear to me what a new H-BLOCKX album needed to sound like: we had to return to our own DNA. The others felt the same way, and so I already had a musical vision for the album in my head before a single song had even been written,” recalls Steddy, drummer and producer.

“Just like with our debut, when we came out of nowhere, that’s exactly how it feels again now. Maybe people don’t expect much anymore from a band after so many years of silence. But for us, everything feels as intense as it did in the very beginning,” says the band about the record, which is, among other things, a deeply personal confession by vocalist Henning Wehland regarding his alcohol addiction.  

Despite the heavy themes, however, FILLIN_THE_BLANK presents H-Blockx in a whole new light – no longer under the pressure of chasing a major success, they now play entirely by their own rules. Whether you call it crossover, rock, or something else entirely, one thing is for sure – H-Blockx are back in full force!
