The Notwist

The pioneers of indietronica and tireless sonic explorers The Notwist return to Prague after nine long years, bringing their experimental sound laboratory to MeetFactory.

The turbulent genre evolution of the band, which was born in the late eighties, kicked off with a grungey hardcore era. Their sound transformed several times during the nineties, the key turning point coming at the verge of the millennium, with the now iconic album Neon Golden, a decade-defining mix of mellow electronica and indie rock. The record was ranked by Pitchfork as one of the best releases of the 2000s.

This year, the Acher brothers and drummer Andi Haberl, who form the core of The Notwist, are bringing their latest record Vertigo Days to MeetFactory, an album full of flickering synth melodies, ambient soundscapes, introspective vocals and rhythmic experiments.
