Slav Squatt is one of many representative elements of the post-communistic street life. However, this one, in particular, gained a lot of popularity through its contiguous and perverted character. It has become something out of nothing! A trend, an internet hit a something to be proud of as a part of your social status, a simple pose that is loaded with the meanings and broad enough to serve as an inspiration for the art project.
Let us introduce you this phenomena in the exhibition Slav Squatting and Its Discontents that occupied MeetFactory Gallery till 4 November.
First Tuesday Squat starts with Slav Squatting and Its Discontents discussion at 19:00. Agata Pyzik, Polish journalist and cultural theorist, and Jan Bělíček, Czech journalist from art magazine A2 will participate on the discussion.
Performative lecture with curator Piotr Sikora starts after the discussion at 21:00.
