Antoinette Nausika

My inspiration and motivation I find in our everyday environment, so often taken for granted and assumed as given. By observing people, situations and events around me, I explore my relationship with these immediate surroundings. I work on projects in which I place myself in one specific location for longer periods of time, to be able to concentrate on and relate to a subject. The basis of the work consists of photographs, drawings, text and videos from which I later create publications and installations. In my work I try to show that ordinary life is nothing other than our Human Existence itself. Thus encouraging an unfamiliar fresh look at this world, to what is seemingly so obvious. By giving shape to universal curiosity, vulnerability, wonder and enchantment, but also to doubt, disruption and putting oneself in perspective.
