Tilman Aumüller

About:

Tilman Aumüller (1982) is interested in fictions and narratives that intervene in political situations and ideological formations. These narrations and fictions are shared, transported and changed by bigger or smaller collectives and groups that are established for shorter or longer periods of time. Through this process performances, movies, interventions, choreographies and forms of grotesque storytelling are created. Often these works contain essayistic reflections, with thoughts being embodied through parodistic techniques and learning plays.

Tilman Aumüller collaborated mostly in the frame of ScriptedReality, an artist collective that he co-founded with other artists from the Institute of Applied Theatre Studies course in Gießen. Their pieces have been shown at various festivals, such as the Freischwimmerfestival (Zürich, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, München), Mladi Levi Festival (Ljubliana) Works at Work, (Copenhagen), Performing Arts festival (Berlin)

He lives and works in Frankfurt am Main

Education:

Tilman Aumüller studied painting at the academy of fine arts in Leipzig, where he subsequently studied in the Meisterschüler course. From 2011 onwards he studied Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen.
