Erik Olofsen

State of Delusion is an installation that converses with its
setting. It interprets, and at the same time distinctly transforms
the exhibition room. The viewer must step inside,
walk along and around the fragile but limpid walls, live in
the space to grasp its meaning. What initially appeared to
be sharp and clear gradually grows into a complex maze
that defies mental visualization.

The installation combines projection with constructed
partitions and walls. At times it is difficult to distinguish
still projection from physical structures. The intermingling
of illusion and reality is made with projections onto
a complex spatial construction, resembling an architectural
model, resulting in an indivisible whole. The interactions
of light and shadow create new space.
