Marla Jacarilla (1980) was born in Alcoy, she lives and works in Barcelona. Visual artist, film critic and writer, she develops her work through techniques such as writing, performance, video and installations. She continually seeks links between plastic art, new technologies, cinema and literature to develop a fragmented and fictional narrative that the viewer is invited to recompose. In 2012 she wrote Mecánica de la desidia, her first novel. She has also developed artistic projects in Art Centers such as Glogauair (Berlin), Islington Mill (Manchester), BelgradeAir (Belgrade) or Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg (Stuttgart).
Beetwen 2000 and 2005 she studied Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In 2010 she moved to Barcelona and studied a master degree in ArtisticProductions and Research at the University of Barcelona.
