Michalina Bigaj

Michalina Bigaj is mainly interested in contents referring to the relation existing between nature and human. In her projects she tries to explore and express the very deepening lack of balance between present civilization and natural environment.
By treating the world of nature as a property, humans have already managed to subordinate it in a way that allows them to use it selectively, in a very impoverished way. What fascinates her is looking for the moments in which the very refreshing experience of making contact with nature is an oppressive experience, thus difficult to be accepted by a present man. The moment in which human realizes about his powerlessness when facing the very power of nature and the feeling of longing is no longer just a desire, unbearable to be fulfilled, but also too big commitment.
She makes sculptures, objects, installations, photography.
