Monika Rygálová

Monika Rygálová (b.1994) is an audiovisual artist working with video, text and installation. In her work she uses the mechanisms of mapping, digital anthropometry and dialogue to explore the intersections of emotionality, technology and the limits of (in)human perception. Since 2018, she is a member of the leisure collective lilky_60200. She is the co-founder and curator of the Cejla Gallery in Brno.

Residency dates: 5. 10 – 30. 11. 2026

RESIDENCY PROJECT

During her residency, Monika Rygálová continues developing Congeleés, a project initiated at CEAAC in collaboration with MeetFactory. The project explores co-dependency as a relational pattern in which one’s sense of value, identity, or emotional stability depends on another person. Using a reflexive, practice-based approach, it combines interviews, theory, photographs, objects, diary excerpts, and autoethnographic and autofictional elements. The residency focuses on developing an experimental text that will serve as a proto-script for a video and installation.
