Hopeful Mount Kimbie comes back to Prague on 30th of November supported by the new Seams
British dubstep duo Mount Kimbie comes back after the two years. Gentlemen released recently the follower of critically succesfull debut Crooks & Lovers album named Cols Spring Fault Less Youth. It is curated by legendary label Warp and this was a giant step for Mount Kimbie to be presented by them. After the recent support act for The XX in Prague Lucerna we may say, they generally overlayed stunning performance of The XX and that’s the reason for real feel to be excited for this event.. Support act will be presented by electronic companion Seams.
Mount Kimbie, namely Dominic Maker and Kai Campos were formed at 2008 in London. After the serie od short EP’s , which gradually improved and point the band to their specific sound, they released the first album Crooks & Lovers (Hotflush Recordings) and they immidiately become the one of the most discussed name in an electronic scene. The long list of media critics which totally honorated the album starts with Mixmagu, NME and ends with Resident Advisor and Pitchfork ("Beautiful, small and clever album"). Unique melodic lines, bass lines and great synths arranges sent Mount Kimbie to landscapes shared with James Blake or eventually other colleagues from label Warp. The great worldwide well-known fashion designer Tyrone Lebon created their stunning official videos of all singles.After the other big amount of EPs was released and remixes for The XX, Andreya Triana or Foals they released the second one Cold Spring Fault Less Youth (Warp). The famous child Kung Crule collaborated in the first single You took Your Time and according the succesfull reactions is this new album brought out a little more.
Electronic producer James Welch aka Seams released during the half of September his debut album Quarters curated by Full Time Hobby (School Of Seven Bells, Tunng, Braids or Timber Timbre). The two EPs Tourist and Sleeper preceded it in 2010 and 2012. This Hampshire native, currently living in Berlin observates the sound landscapes of jingle electro and temporary idm techno on all these artworks. During his producing he supported a lot of companions headed by Golf Panda, Dam Mantle or Modeselektor. The support act for Mount Kimbie is the premiere, however we might consider this collaboration will works perfectly.
