Chelsea Wolfe + Kælan Mikla

Twisting the old self into poetry. Chelsea Wolfe's singular sense for vivid soundscaping in the deepest shades of darkness returns on a new full–lenght record, She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She. The Californian doom–folk singer and songwriter is bringing it Prague together with a live band on Sunday, June 23 at Smíchov's MeetFactory.

Wolfe's new album is a is a rebirth in process, a cathartic, intimate statement about cutting ties and the cyclical process of healing, balancing between ethereal breeze and massive sonic pressure. Dense and minimal, raw and opulent, intimate and expansive; She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She is the materialization of Wolfe's enchanting sonic universe, inhabited by dark folk, sludge, doom metal or noise – and most importantly, the artist's mesmerizing soprano voice.

Opening the evening will be the Icelandic trio Kælan Mikla, who have managed to carve out a distinctive, ice–cold synth–punk sound full of angelic vocals and eerie soundscapes steeped in myth, magic and folklore on their four albums to date.
